MATE (Marine Advanced Technology Education)
ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicles)

The MATE ROV Competition is an underwater robotics (aka Remotely Operated Vehicle or ROV) challenge that attracts a global community of learners each year.

Each team will design, build and navigate an ROV through a series of obstacles inspired by real-world challenges; to test maneuverability, control, and utility underwater.

Teams will show off their engineering skills through technical papers and presentations in front of judges.

Each season has a new theme and a set of competition tasks, challenging teams to expand/improve on their original vehicle design.

Teams can compete with one of 5 classes of vehicles - Scout, Navigator, Ranger, Pioneer, and Explorer. Saudi Arabia regional competition is open to: Scout, Navigator and Ranger.

The annual MATE ROV World Championship is held in the USA and is open to teams that excel at registered regional competitions in the Ranger, Pioneer, and Explorer classes.
